Scant Quarter

Blocks, fabric and bindings from a sewing corner at the end of the hallway.

About

I piece quilts at a drop-leaf table at the end of the hallway, with a sewing machine that is older than I am, a cutting mat that no longer lies flat, and an ironing board I fold away every evening so people can get to the bathroom. Some tops I quilt on the machine with a walking foot; the smaller ones I quilt by hand in a hoop on the sofa, a few inches a night.

These pages are where I keep track of what I measured, what I cut wrong, and which fabrics behaved. I write down seam allowances, stitch lengths and batting types because I never remember them from one quilt to the next. If you sew on a kitchen table too, some of it may be useful.
